Victoria Flying Club Fly-Out

Victoria Flying Club’s organizing a fly-out to Texada Island (Gillies Bay) on Victoria Day, Monday, May 20th.

Over this past winter we took a chance and attempted to arrange monthly fly-outs. Of the six scheduled from November – April, 2.5 were successful which isn’t too bad for an organisation that operates in strictly VMC conditions!

May is just around the corner now and with it the promise of 6 months (and 6 upcoming fly-outs) associated with excellent VMC conditions. The first is going to be led by Victoria’s own Eleanor Eastick and we are going to take a trip up to Gillies Bay (Texada Island.)

Once we have an idea of numbers of participants we might look into having a concurrent picnic / BBQ at the airport, or perhaps just pop over to another airport (Qualicum, Nanaimo etc) to have lunch in a local airport cafe.

Regardless of the final plan it should be fun for one and all!
