November 17th, 2013 – NFC Elections for 2014 take place during November’s Annual General Meeting.  More on this here

November 17th, 2013 – Please welcome our newest members joining the club at the AGM: Lorraine Howatt, Charles Williams, John McGaw, Gerald Thom and Sean Heard.

November 11th, 2013 – NFC’s Joe Radschun passes away from complications of cancer.

November 6th, 2013 – NFC’s Kent Casady bets, earns & takes 5 bucks from Elvis. Can’t spill the beans here tho… you’ll have to ask Kent himself about the details.

October 20th, 2013 – Welcome our newest Members: Denis Bérubé and Dave Shortill.

October 19th, 2013 – Wolverine Air’s “Tim Garrish” donates $500 to the Nanaimo Flying Club. Thank you Tim!

October 1st, 2013 – Volunteers requested for October 9 Hangar Clean-Up 09:30-14:00. A BBQ brunch for the work party served at NooN. It’s an all member call.

September 15th, 2013 – Please welcome our newest Members:  Daniel Desjardins, John Higenbottam and Jonathan Wallace.

September 1st, 2013 – AvGas Editor Grant Corriveau publishes another great edition of our NFC Newsletter;  “AvGas Fall 2013”  Check it out or DON’T!

August 26th, 2013 – John Lovelace announces the Nanaimo Flying Club as the next host destination for the Century Flight 2014 (July 8-17, 2014)

August 18th, 2013 – Welcome our NFC’s newest Members: David Kay, Gerry Mueller and Bob Spink.

August 16th, 2013 – The NFC lost another one of it’s own, this one tragically and unexpectedly; Grant Howatt.  A missing man fly-by and rememberance in his honour will take place at the NFC: Grant Howatt’s AfterLife Party, Saturday, October 19th, 2013. August 7th, 2013 – The NFC lost one of it’s own, Larry Berg.  A rememberence in his honour will be held at the clubhouse on Wednesday, August 21st, 2013 starting at: 18:00 Those that knew Larry are asked to attend for dinner, drinks & celebrate Larry’s contribution to our world.

July 21st, 2013 – Ray Erhart Memorial Bursary of $1000 awarded to Tessa Ferneybough.

July 21st, 2013 – Welcome our newest Members: Raymond Randolf  & Michael Weir.

May 5th 2013 – Skye Avionics announces intent in locating a new satellite service depot at the Nanaimo Flying Club.

May 2nd 2013 – New ATIS frequency commissioned/operational at CYCD: 128.425 ATIS

April 21st 2013 – Welcome new NFC Members: Wolfgang Carolsfeld, Wayne Copeland, Ryan Evans and Bjorn Kjaer.

April 21st 2013 – NFC Membership votes on the acquisition of a club owned rental C-172 aircraft and approves it with an overwhelming majority. Check it: here and here

April 15th 2013 – The Canadian Government cancelled the Air Cadet Gliding Program. Add your name to a petition protesting this decision: here.

April 11th 2013 – The Canadian Snowbirds are scheduled to visit, park at & perform at the Nanaimo Flying Club for the C.H.I.L.D. Program on July 30-31. Read more about it here.

January 20th 2013 – Welcome the first of 2013’s newest NFC Members: Rick Koeppen.

What kind of plane is it? Oh, it’s a big, pretty, white plane with red stripes, curtains in the windows and wheels and it looks like a big Tylenol. -Airplane!
